Khmer Riel 1987

This 5 Riels note is dated 1987. The note is red and brown on light yellow and light green underprint. The obverse features 4 Cambodian people on the left, each representing a different occupation, and the national coat of arms to the right. The reverse is red on pale yellow underprint and depicts the Independence Monument from France. The monument is now known as Victory monument. Built in 1958 following the country's independence from France, it was designed by the influential Cambodian modern architect Vann Molyvann.



This note is dated 1987 and valued at 10 Riels. The note is green on light blue and multicolored underprint. The obverse features workers harvesting fruit to the right, and the national coat of arms to the left. The reverse is deep green and lilac on light blue unerprint and depicts a local school.
